Meet Scott Hill, our faithful Facilities Maintenance Coordinator since 2019—he’s one of the many reasons LaGrange First United Methodist always feels so welcoming and well cared for. A Rome, Georgia native, Scott earned his History degree (with a side of Anthropology) at Berry College in 2010. That’s also where he met local LaGrange native (and LFUMC member!) Alicia Blackwell—after tying the knot, they settled down in her hometown and never looked back.
During his Berry College days, Scott wore many hats—dairy farm hand, archivist, and Chaplain’s office manager, to name a few—showcasing a roll-up-your-sleeves approach that’s carried him through every job since. Once in LaGrange, he worked at Kia Motors Manufacturing, oversaw departments at Home Depot, served as a crew chief at Blackwell’s Inc., and even managed traffic and office logistics at Eagle 102.3. With a combination of historical insight, hands-on know-how, and leadership chops, Scott’s the perfect go-to for our building and grounds upkeep—and he’s front and center on our tech team for live-streamed services, too.
Beyond church walls, Scott loves hanging out with Alicia, their son Harold, and their dog Suzie Q. Whether it’s family board games, computer gaming, airsoft, or hitting the hiking trails, he’s all about spending time together. And did we mention he’s an eager learner and a history buff? When he’s not reading up on a new topic or fine-tuning his woodworking, he’s probably cooking (and then enjoying every delicious bite). With his curious spirit and hardworking heart, Scott helps keep our church running smoothly—and we’re so grateful he does!
