Jeanne Jones

Director - First Foundations Academy

Jeanne Jones, Children's Minister

Hi, I’m Jeanne, and I’m thrilled to serve as the Director of First Foundations Academy at LaGrange First UMC. I’ve been part of FUMC and the LaGrange community since 2016, beginning my journey here as Children’s Minister. Today, I have the joy of pouring my heart into launching our new early learning center.

Teaching has been my calling since day one. My career began at Princeton Day School in New Jersey and has included roles such as Director of Redeemer School for Young Children, Children’s Pastor in Snellville, Georgia, and Director of Reading and Research at The Dunham School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Each step along the way has deepened my passion for early childhood education and faith formation.

Here’s what I believe: the early years are everything. When we teach young children to love learning and love the Lord, we give them gifts that last a lifetime. There’s nothing quite like seeing a child’s face light up with discovery or watching them begin to understand how deeply they are loved by God. At First Foundations, I look forward to walking alongside families, building meaningful relationships, and supporting parents every step of the way.

When I’m not at the church, you’ll likely find me on the tennis or pickleball court (pickleball is my newest hobby), curled up with a good book, enjoying lake days, or – my absolute favorite – spending time with my family. I’m a Jersey girl at heart, but life has taken me through Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Louisiana. My husband and I now call a farm in Newnan home, where we love hosting our three children and six grandchildren. Those little ones are my greatest joy – angels with just enough mischief to keep life interesting.

I can’t wait to meet you and your family.
