Eddie Giddins, Custodian

Eddie Giddens—the behind-the-scenes hero who’s been keeping LaGrange First Methodist spotless (and practically logging a marathon’s worth of steps!) since 2001. Though he seems to be everywhere at once on weekdays, you might not see him as much on Sundays—he faithfully worships at Mount Beulah Baptist Church, where he’s been a member since 1999.

Originally from LaFayette, Alabama, Eddie set out on his own at 18 to become a meter reader for Atlanta Gas Light in Canton. Eighteen years later, he pivoted to Western Electric (now AT&T), where he mastered the art of wiring rotary phones. When the job called for a move to Texas, Eddie decided to return closer to home, landing him in LaGrange. After stints at Langdale Cotton Mill and Ropak Corp., he found his place with us.

Eddie is a proud father of seven and dog-dad to Max and Shep. Whether he’s tidying hallways or greeting folks with a quick hello, his spirit and tireless work ethic make him a treasured part of our church family.
