Day 6 of Advent 🕯️His mercy is for those who Day 6 of Advent 🕯️His mercy is for those who fear him.
Scripture: Luke 1:46-50

Mary's song starts here: "My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my savior."

She's a young woman who just said yes to something wild — and her response? Pure praise. Even in the uncertainty, even in the unknown, she magnifies God.

Then she says something interesting: "His mercy is for those who fear him."

But here's the thing about that word fear — it's not the kind that paralyzes you or makes you hide. It's more like a healthy respect. The way you'd respect the ocean's power or a lightning storm. You know there's something bigger than you at work, something you can't fully control or comprehend.

Mary understood that. And instead of letting it shrink her, she let it expand her trust.

This Advent, maybe that's the invitation: to respect God's power enough to stop trying to do it all ourselves. To trust the hope that's bigger than us. 💛

Day 5 of Advent. Fresh joy for anyone who needs it Day 5 of Advent. Fresh joy for anyone who needs it. 💛
Scripture: Isaiah 29:19-20

"The meek shall obtain fresh joy in the Lord, and the neediest people shall exalt..."

It's a beautiful upside-down truth — God sees the people the world overlooks. The ones who feel powerless inherit something powerful. The lowly get lifted up.

And here's what Advent keeps showing us: God doesn't show up as a conquering king. He shows up as a tiny, vulnerable baby.

Which means it's up to us to make room — in our hearts, in our world — for that kind of love. 🕯️

Day 4 of Advent: Hope in God. 💛 Today's readin Day 4 of Advent: Hope in God. 💛
Today's reading: Psalm 42:6-11

The psalmist is deep in it — waves crashing, soul cast down, asking God "why have you forgotten me?" while his enemies keep poking at him with "where is your God?"

(Ouch.)

He doesn't clean it up for God. He brings the real emotions, the messy feelings, and the honest struggle straight to Him.

It's a beautiful reminder that nothing we feel is too big for God. Not the doubt, not the frustration, and not even the desperate "where are You?" questions.

Even while pouring out all that pain, he circles back: "By day the Lord commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me."

And that refrain: "Hope in God, for I shall again praise him." 🕯️

Maybe sanctuary starts with making room for God's presence in our own messy stories — so others feel welcome to bring theirs too.

Please share with someone who may need their own sanctuary today.

Day 3 of Advent and we're in Psalm 42 — one of t Day 3 of Advent and we're in Psalm 42 — one of those scriptures that finds you right where you are.

That ache. That honest question: "why is my soul so downcast?" More of us feel it than we admit.

The psalmist holds both things at once — grief and gratitude. "My tears have been my food"... and then he's remembering the singing, the celebrating, the days that felt like home.

Remembering isn't pretending everything's fine.

It's letting the good you once knew remind you that God held you before… and He'll hold you again.

Some of you are celebrating today. Some are feeling a heavy weight. Most of us? Carrying both.

Wherever you are: remember the goodness. Trust the hope. Rest in the God who's with you. 🕯️
