We're looking for hope. We're intentionally making space because we know God can provide what we're longing for. So as you seek Christ this season — in the quiet moments, in the busy chaos, in the everyday ordinary — remember this: He's already found you. Day 7 of Advent 🕯️He has lifted up the lowly. Day 7 of Advent 🕯️He has lifted up the lowly. Scripture: Luke 1:51-55 Mary continues: "He has brought down the powerful from their thrones and lifted up the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things and sent the rich away empty." Mary says all of this while she's still pregnant. She's literally nurturing hope within her body, carrying the Christ child, with zero clue what the fullness of Jesus' life will bring. But she already knows one thing for sure: God's promises aren't empty. It's a reminder that in God's economy... ...we don't come to the table showing off what we have. We come empty-handed. And our true wealth? It's measured by what we give away — our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service, our witness. Just like Mary sings her song of praise before she knows how the story ends, maybe we can do the same: trusting the promises, giving thanks, and showing up with open hands. 🙌 Tomorrow we gather for worship at 11AM. Day 6 of Advent 🕯️His mercy is for those who Day 6 of Advent 🕯️His mercy is for those who fear him. Scripture: Luke 1:46-50 Mary's song starts here: "My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my savior." She's a young woman who just said yes to something wild — and her response? Pure praise. Even in the uncertainty, even in the unknown, she magnifies God. Then she says something interesting: "His mercy is for those who fear him." But here's the thing about that word fear — it's not the kind that paralyzes you or makes you hide. It's more like a healthy respect. The way you'd respect the ocean's power or a lightning storm. You know there's something bigger than you at work, something you can't fully control or comprehend. Mary understood that. And instead of letting it shrink her, she let it expand her trust. This Advent, maybe that's the invitation: to respect God's power enough to stop trying to do it all ourselves. To trust the hope that's bigger than us. 💛 Are you catching these daily? Fresh joy for anyone who needs it. 💛 Scripture: Isaiah 29:19-20 "The meek shall obtain fresh joy in the Lord, and the neediest people shall exalt..." It's a beautiful upside-down truth — God sees the people the world overlooks. The ones who feel powerless inherit something powerful. The lowly get lifted up. And here's what Advent keeps showing us: God doesn't show up as a conquering king. He shows up as a tiny, vulnerable baby.
